Church History Library – Men and Women of Faith Lecture

“Bruce R. McConkie: A Special Witness”

The Church History Library will host the Men and Women of Faith Lecture “ Bruce R. McConkie: A Special Witness” featuring his son Joseph Fielding McConkie, sharing hisghtlights from the life of the former apostle. This event is free and open to the public.

The event is part of the 2013 Men and Women of Faith lecture series sponsored by the Church History Library. Lectures are held the second Thursday of every month at 7:00pm in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square, 50 North West Temple.
Validate parking is available at the Conference Center. As you enter the Conference Center parking, inform the attendant that you’re going to a lecture and ask for a token to use when you exit.

Music & the Spoken Word

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir weekly live half an hour broadcast Music & the Spoken Word is the nation’s longest-running network program, having run continuously since 1929. The broadcast takes place every Sunday morning at 9:30am in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. Those wishing to attend should plan to be in their seats by 9:15am.

Easter Reflections Concert

The Temple Square Chorale, accompanied by the Orchestra at Temple Square, will present its annual concert on Friday, April 19 and Saturday April 20, 2013, at 7:30pm in the Tabernacle. The major work of the concert will be the Gloria by Francis Poulenc, with soprano soloist Elizabeth Pike Murdock. Ryan Murphy, associate conductor of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and conductor of the Temple Square Chorale, will lead the evening’s concert.

*Free admission but tickets are required (Limit 6 per person).

Salt Lake Temple Maintenance – Closed June 25 – August 13, 2012

The Salt Lake Temple will be closed for maintenance, Monday, June 25th – Monday, August 13th. All other buildings on Temple Square will still be open to visitors.

On Display – Dresses From The 1900′s

A new display for the month of May!

We have more fun memories from past years as we continue to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building/Hotel Utah. These gorgeous dresses from the early 1900′s show the elegant dress of the guests at Hotel Utah.

There is a story describing the necessity of wearing proper attire while visiting certain areas of the hotel. If you didn’t dress the part you may have been asked to leave. Come visit this fun display and learn all about the styles and trends of the 1900′s!
