Joseph Smith Movie

Enjoy the story of Joseph Smith in the film Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration showing in The 500-seat Legacy Theater, located inside the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

The Church History Museum

Visualize the story of the Restoration and the spiritual and cultural legacy of the Latter-Day Saints through the use of art and artifacts. Items such as a full size statue of the Angel Moroni and death masks of Joseph and Hyrum Smith are displayed to illustrate and animate your experience.

Conference Center and Rooftop Tours

Learn the less-known facts about this 21,000 seat auditorium as you are guided through the halls of this immense building. Catch a bird's eye view of the city when you visit the rooftop gardens to learn about the landscape of Utah.

Cooking Demo

Gain knowledge and experience on cooking from chefs in the restaurants and catering facilities on Temple Square. These hour long classes will tickle your taste buds.

Deseret Book Scavenger Hunt

Experience the new Deseret Book Flagship store located directly across from Temple Square. Find your way through this store as you locate historical church artifacts, view magnificent artwork, and weave your way in and out of numerous products- including CTR rings, scriptures, and general authority titles. Finish the scavenger hunt with a free gift!

FamilySearch

Explore and discover family history resources available to you through an engaging game at the FamilySearch Center, located on the main floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. “I invite the [youth] of the Church to learn about and experience the Spirit of Elijah. ... Ensign Peak Hike

For a breathtaking view of the Salt Lake Valley hike to the top of Ensign Peak located behind the Utah State Capitol Building. The trail is .86 miles round trip and takes about 1 hour to complete.

Trailhead: Follow State Street from downtown Salt Lake northbound toward the State Capitol Building. When you reach the top of the street you will be forced to go right or left. Follow the road to the right, the road becomes East Capitol Blvd. Continue north through the residential area until you reach North Sandrun Drive (940 N) and turn left. Drive about 1 block and turn right on the road just before an LDS meetinghouse, following that road behind the chapel. The trailhead is about ½ block further on the right.
